Viola R. Barker

Born August 10, 1927 to Arthur Bender and Ella A. (nee Talbot) Bender in St. Louis, MO. Viola passed away August 14, 2008 at the Gietner Nursing Home in St. Louis, MO. Viola was laid to rest Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery as part of the Missing in America project. She received full military honors. Michel Funeral Home would like to thank Northwest High School for donating the urns used for today’s services, Susan Strang-Ing for the research she and her co-workers provide to give these unclaimed veterans a final resting place, and to the Patriot Guard for their escort to Jefferson Barracks today.
